About the Role
The Gold Industry Group (GIG) is seeking a dynamic and strategic Marketing and Communications Manager to lead the development and delivery of national campaigns that grow awareness and scale impact.
You’ll oversee all aspects of our marketing and communications strategy from campaign planning to content creation, digital execution and brand stewardship. The diverse role will see you build high-impact, multi-channel campaigns across education, employment, sport, community and sustainability that connect with teachers, students, jobseekers, industry employees and everyday Australians.
This is a hands-on leadership role in a small, agile team where you’ll manage one direct report and collaborate closely with members, partners, agencies and media to elevate the profile and value of Australia’s gold industry.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic and Brand Leadership

Lead brand positioning, ensuring consistency of tone, visuals, and messaging across all collateral and campaigns
Guide the evolution of the GIG brand across print, digital, video, event, and merchandise touchpoints
Campaign Planning and Execution
Plan and deliver integrated, multi-channel campaigns across priority areas: education, workforce, netball, partnerships and sustainability
Lead content planning across social media, websites, newsletters, video, PR, and events
Produce or brief in engaging marketing content from video storyboards to Canva graphics to member co-branded kits
Oversee digital performance and lead optimisation of the GIG’s websites and platforms
Member and Partner Engagement
Support member and partner success through visibility, toolkits, and campaign amplification
Develop co-branded marketing materials to enhance value and exposure for GIG members
Collaborate with stakeholders to uncover stories, case studies and opportunities to showcase industry impact
Manage activation and communications for national programs and partnerships such as Netball WA, Shooting Stars, National Gold Education Program and Gold Jobs
Performance and Growth
Track and report on campaign performance, marketing metrics and audience growth
Use insights to drive innovation and enhance engagement across channels
Maintain a forward-looking content calendar that reflects GIG’s strategic pillars
Who You Are
You’re a results-focused marketing leader with a passion for purpose, strong strategic thinking, and a flair for storytelling. You can switch gears between big-picture planning and tactical delivery, briefing designers one moment, and writing social copy the next.
You’re equally confident leading a national campaign as you are refining a brand toolkit, and you love working in a small team with big ambitions to transform Australia’s gold industry.
Skills and Experience
5+ years experience in marketing, communications, brand or digital strategy
Proven experience developing and delivering multi-channel marketing campaigns with purpose or across education, workforce or community
Excellent written and verbal communication skills across a range of formats
Strong understanding of digital and social platforms (e.g. Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube)
Proficiency with Canva, Active Campaign, CMS and website tools (e.g. WordPress)
Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, stakeholders and freelancers with minimal supervision
What We Offer
The opportunity to shape the national voice of the Australian gold sector
Creative freedom and genuine variety in your work
Purpose-driven work across industry, education, community and sport
Flexible, hybrid working environment
High-profile national platform backed by leading gold companies
