Chef de Partie – Megalong Restaurant

Location: Megalong Valley, Blue Mountains

Salary: $65,000–$75,000 per annum + super (depending on experience)

Megalong is a farm-to-table restaurant nestled in the stunning Megalong Valley in the Blue Mountains. We grow our own fruit and vegetables, raise our own livestock, and take pride in showcasing the best of seasonal produce. Our commitment is to deliver a thoughtful, quality-driven dining experience in a unique natural setting.

Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Chef de Partie to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have solid experience working in professional kitchens and a passion for seasonal, locally sourced ingredients. This is an exciting opportunity to grow within a creative and collaborative culinary environment.

Key Responsibilities:

· - Prepare and present dishes to the highest standard within your section.

· - Maintain consistency, portioning, and quality in line with the Head Chef’s direction.

· - Work effectively within a fast-paced and high-performing team.

· - Assist in the training and supervision of junior kitchen staff and apprentices.

· - Maintain cleanliness and organization of your section.

· - Follow all health, hygiene, and food safety standards.

· - Contribute to the development of new dishes and seasonal menus.

· - Assist with daily prep, stock rotation, and inventory control as needed.

Key Skills & Requirements:

· - Minimum 2 years of experience as a Chef de Partie or similar role.

· - Strong technical skills and understanding of modern cooking techniques.

· - Ability to manage your section independently and with pride.

· - Great communication and teamwork skills.

· - Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and commitment to quality.

· - A genuine interest in farm-to-table cooking and local produce.

· - Formal culinary qualification preferred but not essential.

· - Knowledge of HACCP and food safety principles.
