Opportunity for 5/6 Assistant Policy Officer within ICT Digital Sourcing
- Clerk Grade: 5/6 (starting at $99,938 per annum plus superannuation)
- Employment Type: Temporary opportunity to July 2026)
- Hybrid vs In-office requirements: hybrid working available, 5 days per fortnight in the McKell office
- This role is in the Policy & Engagement function in ICT/Digital Sourcing branch within Digital NSW

About the team
We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Policy Officer to join our team. We are a central team that supports NSW Government agencies in sourcing ICT and Digital related goods and services (ICT procurement) at an all-of-government level. The Policy & Engagement team also manages communication channels including events for government and industry, web pages, newsletters and routine queries.
About you
This role suits someone with excellent communication and organisation skills, an eye for detail and an interest or prior knowledge in procurement and/or ICT and digital products. To be successful in the role, you will have:
- Strong attention to detail with a proven ability to operate successfully under tight deadlines and time pressures
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to communicate routine technical information clearly
- Proven ability in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
Your day to day
In this role you will undertake a range of procurement policy research, analysis, stakeholder engagement and administrative activities to support buyers and suppliers of ICT and Digital products across government and contribute towards NSW Government objectives. This role will:
- Respond to enquiries about the ICT Purchasing Framework, ICT Digital Procurement Policy and ICT Services Scheme
- Help organise a quarterly a community of practice (ICT Knowledge Network) for NSW Government buyers
- Help distribute a newsletter to 1500+ subscribers across the NSW Government
- Contribute to strategic engagement plans and objectives
- Contribute to procurement policy research and development
- Collaborate with insights and reporting functions to monitor the effectiveness of communication channels
- Contribute to continuous improvement of business processes.
