Program Operations Manager
Zero2Hero Inc
Posted 1 day ago
We’re Not Looking for a Passenger. We’re Looking for a Pilot.
This isn’t a stepping stone. It’s a cornerstone.
At zero2hero, we’re expanding rapidly, and not by chance. In 2024, we reached more than 51,000 young people across WA through school workshops, camps, and community programs. Now we need to match that growth with operational leadership that’s equal parts strategic and human.
We’re looking for a Program Operations Manager to lead our program delivery team into its next phase of growth. Someone who’s scaled teams before and knows how to bring structure, clarity and energy to a large team that’s always in motion.
This role is about building something sustainable and scalable, without losing the heart of what makes it special.
About the role
This is a senior leadership role, reporting to the CEO and responsible for:
Building operational systems that support quality, safety and consistency
Managing and growing a team of staff, casual facilitators, and contracted specialists
Creating structure that supports both short-term contributors and long-term team members
Mentoring, developing and inspiring a diverse group with different goals, timelines and motivations
Overseeing scheduling, risk, compliance, reporting, budgeting and performance
Collaborating across the organisation to ensure delivery matches ambition
Leading our team of heroes in the delivery of all zero2hero programs (camps, school workshops, community initiatives and more)
You’ll be the person ensuring that every young person who comes through a zero2hero program gets a consistent, safe, meaningful experience, regardless of where they are or who’s delivering it.
Who you are
You’re a builder. You’ve scaled teams. You understand that growth is exciting… but only when it’s done well. You’ve led people through it and know that not everyone’s in it for the long haul… but some are. And you know how to support both.
You know how to get the best out of people whether they’re new and finding their feet, or ready for more responsibility. You’re not afraid to hold people accountable, but you do it with clarity and care.
You’re a systems thinker. You can juggle moving parts without dropping the core mission. And you want your work to mean something.
What we’re looking for
6–10+ years of operational leadership, ideally in a fast-growing, people-heavy environment
Experience managing large diverse teams across casual, part-time and full-time roles
Proven success scaling teams
Strong operational capability across budgets, compliance, scheduling and reporting
A clear, motivating leadership style with a track record of developing others
A Working With Children Check, National Police Clearance and valid WA driver’s licence
A background in delivering results means more to us than it being in the conventional streams of education, youth work, mental health or community services (still highly valued however). We care more about how you lead than where you’ve led.
Why this role matters
Young people in WA need early, honest conversations about mental health. Our programs provide exactly that… but only if we can deliver them safely, consistently, and at scale.
That’s where you come in.
You’ll be leading the operational side of one of WA’s fastest-growing youth charities, ensuring that as demand increases, our quality never drops. You’ll help us create the kind of team that can meet the moment and sustain it.
What we offer
A strong salary that will be reflect the experience that you bring
A real leadership opportunity in a respected, mission-led organisation
A positive, purpose-driven culture where values aren’t just on posters
Flexibility, autonomy and trust to lead in your way
Based in our West Perth office, with time in the field as needed
A seat at the table - reporting directly to the CEO and shaping future strategy
Generous salary packaging opportunities.
To apply
Upload your CV and a cover letter addressed to Olivia Pickering, answering:
When have you led operations through growth or complexity, and what did you learn that would shape how you’d lead here?
We’re not after a stock-standard cover letter. Give us insight into how you think and lead.
This role will define how we deliver programs that change lives. If you’re ready to build something that lasts and lead the team to match, we’d love to hear from you.
