Qualifications & Experience
You Have:
A practical understanding of the NDIA policies and procedures.
Knowledge of the rules relating to participant planning and reasonable and necessary supports
Good practical and theoretical knowledge of working with people with severe and enduring disabilities along with complex and multiple care needs.
Minimum of certificate IV in Mental Health or Mental Health peer work or similar training and/or 2 years paid experience in supporting people with Mental Health challenges.
Demonstrated ability to develop relationships with service providers, NDIS planners, Plan Managers, and public service personnel in dealing with participants needs.
Experience in one or more of: Support Coordination, Support Connection, Local Area Coordination, NDIA Planning, Mental Health, Welfare worker, Developmental Educator, Counsellor, or Psychologist
Experience in service delivery and design for people with complex needs
Experience in evidence based written documentation and verbal communication
Demonstrated ability to work within a client-focused environment, to build client capacity and to provide choice and control within their NDIS plans.
Experience with psychosocial disabilities will be viewed favourably
Qualifications in Psychology or Mental Health and surrounding fields will be viewed favourably
THE ROLE
Reporting to the Support coordination you will provide formal, mainstream and funded support to clients based on their NDIA plan. To do this you will:-
Build effective relationships with clients and their families
Manage client issues and complaints
Maintain a working log of regular contact/tasks and record in the database
Prioritise, manage and administer a given caseload
Ensure adherence to all ARKWAYS policies, procedures and guidelines
Actively engage in professional development and relevant committees
Maintain effective working relationships with other Disability services
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE
To be considered for this role you will need to provide evidence of the following:-
Certificate IV in Mental Health or Mental Health peer work or similar training (Qualifications in Psychology or Mental Health and surrounding fields will be viewed favourably) and/or
2 years paid experience in supporting people with Mental Health challenges.
Experience in service delivery and design for people with complex needs
Experience in evidence based written documentation and verbal communication
NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
NDIS Workers Orientation Certificate
Current and valid Victoria Police check
Current and valid Working with Children Check
Current and valid Australian work rights
Hold or willing to obtain First Aid and CPR
Valid Victorian driving licence and appropriate fully insured car.

Good understanding of NDIS legislation and guidelines, price guide and how they are applied.
