The Purchasing and Inventory Officer is responsible to assist with the efficient flow of goods, services, and information throughout the supply chain. This includes monitoring inventory levels, coordinating procurement activities, managing suppliers and logistics providers, and helping to ensure timely delivery of materials and products. This role supports the business by minimizing inventory shortages, ensuring inventory accuracy, and optimising the supply of spare parts and consumables.

1. Inventory Management

·Monitor and maintain accurate inventory records.
·Conduct regular cycle counts and reconcile variances.
·Analyse inventory trends and forecast demand to optimise stock levels.

2. Purchasing and Supply Chain Coordination

·Assist with the sourcing and evaluation of suppliers and vendors.
·Obtain and review purchase orders, ensuring timely procurement of goods and services.
·Track purchase orders and follow up on outstanding deliveries.
·Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics with transport providers.
·Support warehouse operations and oversee the storage, handling, and dispatch of goods.
·Sales support - sales order entry, confirmation, and internal and external coordination.

3. Reporting and Analysis

·Prepare regular reports on inventory status, procurement activity, and supply chain performance.
·Use ERP or inventory management systems to track and manage supply chain activities.
·Ensure business process continuous improvement.

4. Compliance and Risk Management

·Ensure compliance with company policies, legal regulations, and safety standards.
·Adherence to AS9100D QMS where applicable.
·Maintain documentation for audits and quality control processes.
·Assess and mitigate risks related to supply disruption, supplier reliability, and inventory accuracy.

5. General / Other

·Support facility upgrades.
·Other duties as directed, this role is expected to be hands on with the successful candidate being a team player with a can do attitude.

Qualifications:

·Qualifications in Supply Chain, Logistics or Business Management highly regarded.
·Experience in Manufacturing and Logistics is highly advantageous.
·Experience with inventory control in a manufacturing environment.
·Knowledge of dangerous goods code will be advantageous.
·Experience dealing with sensitive or confidential documents within urgent timelines.
·Experience with ERP software and general IT literacy is also advantageous.
