About the Role
As an Engagement Officer, you will play a key role in supporting general practices and Residential Aged Care Homes (RACHs) to engage with GCPHN’s strategic programs. You’ll facilitate access to resources, promote digital health tools, and champion quality improvement initiatives aligned with national priorities such as Strengthening Medicare, MyMedicare, and General Practice in Aged Care Incentive (GPACI).
Contract Type: Full-Time Fixed-Term until 30 June 2027 (with potential for extension).
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with primary care providers.
- Support the implementation of Strengthening Medicare initiatives, digital health, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate provider-facing events, forums, and communications.
- Promote education, training, and continuous improvement across the sector.
- Assist practices with data-driven improvement cycles and incentive program participation.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent messaging and service delivery.
Selection Criteria
- Stakeholder Engagement Experience: Demonstrated experience in a primary health care setting, including engagement with primary health care providers such as general practices and aged care facilities, to support program implementation and relationship management.
- Knowledge of Primary Health Care System: Sound understanding of Australia’s primary health care system, including current reforms such as Strengthening Medicare, and familiarity with digital health tools and quality improvement frameworks.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to produce high-quality reports, facilitate workshops, and build effective relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Data Interpretation and Quality Improvement: Ability to interpret practice-level data (e.g., PIP QI, PenCS tools) and support practices in using data for quality improvement and proactive patient care.
- Organisational and Team Collaboration Skills: Proven ability to manage competing priorities, coordinate multiple activities, and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
