About the role

Blue Sky Produce is seeking a motivated and hardworking Farm Hand to join our workplaces in Mareeba and Kairi, QLD.

20 – 30 hours a week (Additional hours during harvest periods) at Horticultural Award Wage rate

Chemical Application & Fertigation

Machinery operation & Harvesting

General Farm Maintenance

What you'll be doing

Assisting with spraying, irrigating, fertilizing and general maintenance of crops.

General assistance and supervision during harvest operations.

Performing general farm tasks such as weed spraying, slashing, and mulching.

Ensuring a safe and tidy work environment.

Contributing to the overall efficiency and productivity of the farm.

What we're looking for

Previous experience working in a farming or horticulture environment.

Ability to perform physical labour and work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Previous experience in operating tractors and attachments.

Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to multitask, work in a team and work independently.

Ability to be flexible in regards to working in a fast paced environment (during harvest), and working repetitive jobs during the off season (weed spraying, slashing etc.)

Able to travel between different farm locations with short notice (40kms apart).

Have flexibility and understanding when hours may increase or decrease due to seasonal demand. (Willing to work Sunday - Thursday during harvest period)

Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high quality standards.
