Are you fascinated by what makes people tick? Ever wondered why someone chooses one cereal over another, or how a brand’s message can shift perceptions? If you're curious about the "what" and the "why" behind consumer decisions, and you want to turn that curiosity into a career, then we may have a position for you.
At T garage, we’re looking for someone at the start of their research journey. You don’t need years of experience, but you should have a natural interest in people, culture, and how brands can shape experiences. You may have done some qual or quant research at uni, in a previous role, or just for fun, and now you’re ready to dive deeper.
What you'll be doing:
You’ll be jumping into real research from day one -no busywork, no fluff. You’ll support our Melbourne Research & Strategy across a range of projects that help small and big brands make smarter decisions.
Here’s a snapshot of how you’ll contribute:
• Weekly pulse dips: You’ll help track and understand what consumers are saying across some of our key FMCG and retail clients. That means setting up short surveys, monitoring responses, and pulling out the insights that matter.
• Running small-scale surveys and online research: From quick polls to online discussion forums, you’ll get hands-on experience with InsightIQ (our research platform). You’ll help set things up, manage the fieldwork, and share top-line results with the team.
• Support the qualitative team. Help develop the tools needed to research and run on-line and face to face research. Support the team in executing projects and learn from the best in business in how to run direct face to face research.
• Supporting sensory and in-person fieldwork: You’ll also get involved in with product testing and qualitative sensory sessions - from recruiting participants and managing logistics, to prepping samples, setting up surveys and supporting the team with basic insights.
• It’s a varied, practical role - perfect if you’re excited to learn, happy to get stuck in, and ready to grow your research skills fast.
You’re a great fit if you:
You don’t need to know everything, training and support are part of the deal. But here are some of the things we’d love you to bring to the table:
• A basic understanding of qualitative and quantitative research methods - you know the difference between an interview and a survey, and you're keen to learn more.
• Some familiarity with survey tools or online research platforms – again, you don’t need to be an expert, but you’ve maybe had a go at building a form or online poll before.
• Comfortable working with data and charts - whether it’s checking results, spotting patterns, or helping pull together visual summaries.
• Great time management and organisational skills, meaning you can juggle a few tasks, keep things on track.
• A strong eye for detail.
• A flexible mindset - you’re open to trying new things, testing ideas, and finding better ways to work.
• A collaborative spirit - you enjoy being part of a team.
• Confidence to manage your workload and work well with internal teams and stakeholders- you’re a great communicator.

• Positions: Research Executive / Graduate
• Start date: September
• Salary: Range $65,000 – $75,000 (including super)
• Must have full working rights in Australia.
• Must be able to commute to this job's location.
