YMCA Vic Early Learning Centres (ELC's) are safe, supportive spaces offering high quality early learning education and care for children aged six weeks to five years old.
About the role
You will experience specialist support from a diverse and caring team, as you drive community and family engagement, with children at the heart of your service philosophy.
The role of Room Leader role will involve:
- Leading, managing, and motivating appointed room staff to achieve the objectives of the Centre and support staff in their development
- Assisting with the mentoring of permanent and casual employees
- Following an approved curriculum, where you will be a role modelling for children in developing lifelong skills and instilling in them a passion for learning
- Making lessons captivating and enjoyable for individuals and small groups of children
- Delivering consistent high-quality practice of the National Quality Framework
- Ensuring that records are maintained accurately for each child in care
This is a full time opportunity at Clyde North ELC. The hourly rate is $34.29

Qualifications required
- Diploma or equivalent qualifications in Early Childhood / Children's Services or equivalent
- First Aid and CPR certification
- Anaphylaxis and Asthma certification
- Working with Children Card
About the Centre
YMCA Clyde North Early Learning Centre is a 104 place Long Day Care service. We work closely with the local community to ensure that we are providing to highest possible care to all children within our service.
Our vibrant Early Learning Centre incorporates modern and progressive teaching practices which embeds the Early Learning Years Framework. Working in alignment with YMCA Victoria's philosophy, our ELC setting prides itself in teaching a calm and structured learning environment where children are exposed to high quality education.
We offer children a purpose-built early learning centre to instill a love of learning, nurture curiosity and help children reach their full potential, providing everything needed to play, learn and thrive throughout the day.
YMCA Victoria (the Y) has robust policies and practices to prevent harm to children and young people. The Y is committed to identifying and removing potential risks and hazards. Hence, all our candidates are appropriately screened by checking professional references and a working with children check. Depending on the role, a National Police Check may also be undertaken.
