Head Chef – Tasmanian Club | Hobart

Are you a passionate culinary leader ready to take the reins of a prestigious kitchen? The Tasmanian Club, a heritage private members’ social club in the heart of Hobart, is seeking an experienced and driven Head Chef to create and lead our culinary team and deliver an exceptional dining experience to our esteemed members and guests.

About the Role:

As Head Chef, you will be the cornerstone of our kitchen operations, responsible for everything from menu creation and staff leadership to food safety and quality control. This is a hands-on leadership role where your creativity, professionalism, and attention to detail will shape the Club’s culinary reputation.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and deliver seasonal, high-quality menus tailored to our members' tastes

Hire, lead, train, and inspire a dedicated kitchen team

Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and Club policies

Manage kitchen operations including rostering, stock control, and supplier relations

Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment

Collaborate with the Secretary Manager and Club members to plan and execute functions and events

What We’re Looking For:

Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a high-quality dining environment

Strong leadership and team management skills focused on creating a harmonious and happy work environment for front and back of house

Ability to manage a budget, control costs, and negotiate with suppliers

A passion for delivering outstanding food and service

Professionalism, reliability, and pride in your work
