About the role

We're looking for an experienced Chef / All rounder / Cook to join our dynamic team at Shortys Food Truck. In this casual role, you'll be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of delicious food, sides and other menu items to our high standards. This is an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary expertise and contribute to the success of our popular local burger joint.

What you'll be doing

Prepare and cook a range of burgers, sides and other menu items to our recipes and quality specifications

Capable of driving the truck to and from locations as your roll progresses.

Loading/Unloading truck at our base location in Kemps Creek.

Travelling to and from locations as our work is mainly catering and major events/festivals.

Ensure that the truck is maintained weekly and cleaned to a standard.

Ensure all food preparation, cooking and presentation meets our high standards for taste and visual appeal

Assist with general kitchen duties such as food prep, cleaning and restocking

Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment

Provide exceptional customer service to all our patrons

What we're looking for

Proven experience as a Chef, Cook or All rounder in a fast-paced hospitality environment

Can independently work the grill, deep fryer and understand how to use them.

Must have an Australian drivers license or international license. Preferably able to drive and has mode of transport.

Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and food safety standards

Excellent time management and multitasking abilities to work efficiently in a busy kitchen

Enthusiasm for creating delicious, high-quality food and providing outstanding customer service

Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure in a team-oriented environment

Relevant qualifications or training in commercial cookery or food preparation
