About the Opportunity
Our client is a national corporate services organization that supports a portfolio of businesses dedicated to delivering high-impact services, including healthcare, allied health, digital platforms, and community care. With a strong emphasis on ethical practice, compliance, and innovation, the group is expanding and now seeks a commercially minded Legal Counsel to join their close-knit legal team.
Reporting to the Senior Legal Counsel and supported by another Legal Counsel and a group of paralegals and administrative officers, you will play a key role in providing end-to-end legal support across the group. This role is ideally suited to a commercially astute lawyer with 2–6 years’ post-admission experience, with an in-house and/or private practice/law firm background.
Key Responsibilities
Provide legal and regulatory advice across a broad range of commercial, privacy, health, IT, and consumer law matters
Draft, review, and negotiate various commercial agreements with suppliers, clients, and strategic partners
Assist in the preparation and review of internal policies, ensuring alignment with current legislation and business objectives
Support corporate governance, including company secretarial duties, compliance reporting, and risk management
Assist with the management of real property matters, including leasing, acquisitions, and disposals
Contribute to the oversight of the company’s IP portfolio and assist with the management of disputes, complaints, and investigations
Partner closely with stakeholders to deliver clear, solutions-focused advice that supports operational and strategic goals
About You
To thrive in this role, you will bring:
A law degree and a current Australian practising certificate
Sound understanding of general commercial law and regulatory frameworks
Confidence working across privacy, corporate, contract, and consumer protection law
Strong communication and negotiation skills with a practical, business-minded approach
Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced and evolving environment
A proactive attitude and commitment to ethical practice, confidentiality, and collaboration
Medical law or healthcare sector experience is advantageous but not essential
