About the Role

Based in Docklands, Melbourne, this 24-month fixed-term role reports to the Executive Manager Engineering. You’ll lead the technical development and delivery of utility-scale BESS projects, ensuring compliance with Australian standards and optimising technical and commercial outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering design and delivery of BESS projects from early development through commissioning
• Prepare technical scopes, RFQs, and manage contractor and consultant deliverables
• Collaborate with grid teams and NSPs to manage connection requirements
• Support contract negotiation, project planning, and risk mitigation
• Coordinate multi-disciplinary engineering inputs and ensure regulatory compliance
• Engage with stakeholders including EPCs, consultants, and internal project teams

Qualifications & Experience

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
• Experience in energy infrastructure, specifically with battery storage projects
• Strong understanding of HV electrical design, BESS integration, and Australian standards
• Experience working with EPCs/Head Contractors or as owner’s engineer in BESS project delivery
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
