About the roles
Immediate start.
Exceptional opportunities exist for highly skilled, driven and qualified Project Engineers with experience managing teams to deliver challenging road and rail infrastructure projects in Australia.
Current Contract roles include:
- Civil Project Engineer for tender phase of road project - must have MRPV experience
- Civil Project Engineers for delivery phase of road project in SE suburbs
- Structural Project Engineers with experience in delivery of bridgeworks
- Project Engineer with experience in rail infrastructure projects, specifically the planning and execution of level crossing removal project
The rates on offer are for Engineers at the very top of their game looking to be rewarded for the extra mile that they always go to in delivering complex, high risk infrastructure.

Skills and experience
As the Project Engineer your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering high quality engineering to achieve successful project delivery;
- Undertaking cost controlling, estimating, budgeting, forecasting, sub-contract claim review and commercial negotiation activities;
- Ensuring appropriate operational, functional and management control processes are in place to achieve project objectives;
- Monitoring projects and immediately act on any areas of risk;
- Ensuring construction activities meet budget requirements and adhering to cost controls systems;
- Developing and reviewing construction, planning and monitoring progress to ensure schedule and quality requirements are achieved;
- Managing, leading and driving employees to ensure activities are completed safely, on time and to high standards.
- Coordinate and administer construction engineering activities to ensure that projects are implemented in accordance with plans, designs and specifications
- Monitor construction progress for adherence to programme and report to the Project Manager
- Contribute to improvements to challenge existing designs and specification
- Demonstrate financial management skills and commercial acumen when making decisions
- Execute working knowledge of contractual and legislation relevant to the project
- Undertake quantitative and qualitative safety, environment and quality risk assessment to ensure acceptable quality of structures and finishes
- Analyse and use document and record management, progress and project performance reporting compliance reporting
- Manage and mentor a team of project, site and graduate engineers
- Demonstrate sound people management skills by managing work and performance of subcontractors to achieve outcomes.
Experience you will bring as a Project Engineer:
- Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent;
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in the civil construction industry with a strong background in roads, rail and bridges;
- Previous Experience in a Project Engineer role;
- Proven ability and demonstrated experience in planning and managing projects, including contract management, project expenditure, estimating and delivery;
- Demonstrated experience in effective monitoring of sub-contractors and other trades;
- Strong technical knowledge
- High level of communication, written and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated commercial experience to include planning up to 3 months ahead, weekly reporting on progress against plan and cost, reporting on risk and developing and implementing risk treatment plans
