Edward Mann is working with a rapidly growing player in the Automotive Services space, who looking for a talented Senior Accountant join their high performing team. Someone is is not afraid to get their hands dirty.

The head office is located conveniently in Mascot NSW. Our client offers an exciting fast-paced environment that will enable who ever joins to make an immediate impact and further develop their technical skillset.

The position is offering up to 130k + super depending on experience.

You will work closely with the FC & CEO across financial reporting, play a critical role in the FY25 audit, month/year end process optimisation, budgeting, AP/AR (transactional finance) and Payroll. You will have the opportunity to impact financial stability and shape strategy in a time of significant growth.

The role has a large and will offer candidates the ability to enhance their all-round technical skills. It will be suitable for those coming from public practice, as well as those with prior experience in industry.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyse statements to drive insights into company performance. Generate management and external reports.

Critique of end of month results for completeness and accuracy.

Review the current cost accounting procedures and recommend improvements as required.

Oversight & maintenance of the Fixed Asset Register

Review all monthly and quarterly returns prepared and lodged - including BAS/FBT/GST and Payroll Tax.

Assist with any & all direct/indirect taxation matters or queries.

Month/Year-End Close: Lead timely and accurate closing, reconciling accounts, and addressing issues collaboratively.

General Ledger: Ensure integrity through review/approval of entries, reconciliations, and intercompany transactions.

Oversee AP/AR & Payroll: Ensuring accuracy and timeliness

Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in budget development, monitor actuals vs. budget, and explain variances for proactive decision-making.

Process Improvement: Champion efficiency by identifying improvements, streamlining processes, and implementing best practices.

Internal Controls & Compliance: Maintain strong controls to comply with accounting standards, policies, and regulations. Support audits.

Financial Analysis: Support strategic business decisions through in-depth analyses.

Team Mentorship: Guide and develop junior accounting team members.

Progression: Gradually taking on more responsibility with the aim to progress to FC over the medium term.

Desirables

CPA/CA Qualification with be highly regarded – those studying towards or without will still be considered.

Deep understanding of AASB and financial regulations.

Advanced Excel; strong skills with accounting software.

Detail-oriented with exceptional analytical abilities.

Excellent communication for cross-functional collaboration.

Proactive, adaptable, and deadline driven.

ERP systems and financial modelling experience will be highly regarded.
