Our Client

Our customer is a food manufacturing business that, for 30 years has specialised in, but is not limited to, producing crumbed chicken products for the local and national market. Located south of the river, they are committed to their people, their products and their customers. They are looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician to join their team on a full-time basis.

What Your Day May Look Like

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager you will be expected to maintain, service and repair food production equipment that produces crumbed chicken and other food products in a food manufacturing environment, along with other company assets and facilities onsite. This equipment may include conveyors, fryers and other food production line equipment. You will be expected to maintain and promote the highest OHS&E standards at all times.

Here's the Specific Duties of This Role:

· Assisting the Maintenance Manager, with the operation, maintenance, upkeep and repair of all company equipment assets, buildings and facilities.

· Assisting the Maintenance Manager with planning for scheduled maintenance and repair schedules and evaluate their costs.

· Assisting the Maintenance Manager to develop, maintain, update and implement plans and strategies to improve maintenance operations and targets.

· Stock control of parts and equipment.

· Performing regular inspections of machinery to detect any problems.

· Meeting or exceeding all maintenance standards required, including keeping quality records of maintenance, as required.

· Building and promoting strong internal cross-functional working relationships.

· Lead by example and actively promote OHS&E practices.

Who We’re Looking For

You will have recent experience working as a maintenance technician, in a food production environment. You will have experience working within a small team. Experience working in meat or high-risk food processing will also be highly regarded. Please only apply if you have full, ongoing Australian working rights. You’ll Be the Perfect Candidate If You Have:

· Trade qualification in electrical, engineering or related field or the equivalent practical experience in maintenance and repair of food manufacturing equipment.

· 3+ years of planned preventative and reactive maintenance and repair experience in food production & manufacturing equipment.

· Experience and understanding of GMP, HACCP, SQF, CFMSR, WSEP procedures.

· Experience in using preventative maintenance programs and software.

· General food manufacturing operations & production understanding.

· Ability to prioritise, problem solve and multitask.

· Excellent OHS&E standards.

· Physically fit and able to undertake all duties of the role.

· The ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

· Have great communication skills.

· Ability to follow policies, processes and procedures.

· Ability to build strong working relationships, both within function and across the broader organization.

· Strong organisational and time management skills.

· Competency with Outlook, Word & Excel.

· Full, ongoing Australian working rights with no restrictions.
