Yuleworks is a family owned and operated mining contractor, supplying excavators, loaders and operators to Quarries across Western Australia.
The Opportunity:
As an Earthmoving Plant Operator is responsible for operating machinery to excavate, move, and grade earth on various construction and mining sites. The role is crucial in building foundations for structures, roadways, and other infrastructure projects. You will work with a range of specialised equipment, such as bulldozers, excavators, and graders, ensuring that construction specifications and safety standards are met.
Responsibilities:
- Operate earthmoving plant machinery on construction and mining sites.
- Ensure machinery is in safe and proper working condition.
- Interpret plans, drawings, and specifications.
- Monitor machine operation to detect and diagnose potential issues.
- Adhere to safety regulations and standards.
- Collaborate with other operators, site managers, and project teams.
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on machinery.
Main tasks:
- Excavate and move earth to create foundations and trenches.
- Grade land to specified levels and contours.
- Load and haul materials such as earth, rock, and sand.
- Clear and prepare sites for construction.
- Operate machinery to demolish structures as required.
- Conduct pre-operational checks and daily inspections of machinery.
- Report any mechanical problems or necessary repairs.
Relevant qualifications:
To be
qualified for the role of an Earthmoving Plant Operator, you typically need a high school diploma or equivalent. Certifications or licences specific to operating heavy machinery are often required and can vary based on location and employer. Formal training in earthmoving operations, such as a relevant certification or vocational qualification, is highly advantageous and may be mandatory. Previous experience in a similar role will significantly boost your employability.
