The Role

We’re seeking a passionate and driven Assistant Director & Educational Leader to join our leadership team full-time. This is a non-contact, off-the-floor position, offering one dedicated day each week solely for Educational Leadership, and four days focused on operational excellence and team support.

As part of your role, you will:

Inspire, mentor, and support our incredible team of educators.

Celebrate and enhance high-quality programming, helping to embed theory into everyday practice.

Lead with kindness, confidence, and clarity, ensuring children, families, and staff feel supported.

Collaborate with the Director and 3IC to manage the smooth operation of our service.

Be a key driver of professional growth, consistency, and innovation within the team.

You’ll be provided with a structured role guide, detailed checklists, and ongoing support to help you succeed.

Key Responsibilities

Act as 2IC, assisting the Centre Director in daily operations, leadership, and compliance.

Mentor educators, building their understanding of theory, reflective practice, and pedagogy.

Champion high-quality educational programs and streamline documentation practices.

Provide leadership and consistency across rooms, nurturing strong team relationships.

Support with rostering, performance development, and centre compliance.

Maintain a positive team culture, contributing to ongoing staff wellbeing and cohesion.

About You

Committed to nurturing a respectful, inclusive and child-centred workplace culture.

Essential Qualifications

Diploma or higher in Early Childhood Education and Care.

Current Blue Card (Working with Children Check).

Child Protection Training (CHCPRT001 or CHCPRT025).

Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis certification.
