Advance Diversity Services (ADS) is a vibrant community-based organisation dedicated to supporting culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities in Bayside, Georges River, and Sutherland Shire. We advocate for recent arrivals, refugees, families, women, and older people, helping them access social and economic opportunities in Australia.

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Family Support and DFV (Domestic and Family Violence) Case Worker to join our team. This position involves supporting individuals and families experiencing family challenges or DFV, delivering tailored casework, assessments, and group programs to strengthen family wellbeing and resilience.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct intake assessments and develop case plans for clients affected by family issues or DFV.

Provide trauma-informed, culturally sensitive casework support to individuals and families.

Establish and maintain effective referral pathways to specialist services and supports.

Deliver group programs to build parenting skills, positive family relationships, and community wellbeing.

Advocate for clients and increase community awareness around DFV and gender equality.

Collaborate with community leaders, service providers, and stakeholders to enhance service responses.

Maintain accurate documentation, monthly reports, and participate in program evaluations and research.

Selection Criteria -

Essential:

Qualifications in Community Services, Human Services, Social Work or related.

area and experience working within the family support and/or domestic violence field.

Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of client needs, dynamics, services and processes in family support work.

Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the dynamics, complexities, and legal and social consequences of DFV, particularly in the context of multicultural work.

Knowledge and understanding of legislation and criminal justice systems, including the Child Protection system and issues.

Effective interpersonal and cross-cultural communication and client advocacy skills with a demonstrated ability to liaise effectively with all key stakeholders, including clients, service providers and their communities.

Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with clients in crisis and provide appropriate, trauma-informed support.

Excellent written communication skills, including report writing, with attention to detail and accuracy.

Proficient skills in the use of Microsoft Office programs and the ability to navigate database software.

Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise work.

Demonstrated values of integrity, reliability, professionalism and a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

First Aid Certificate required.

National Police Check and Working with Children Check required.

Desirable:

Speaks another language other than English.

Experience working with clients of a CALD background.
