ABOUT THE GREAT BARRIER REEF FOUNDATION
Are you purpose driven and wanting to make a difference? Do you love working with smart and passionate people who are dedicated to creating impact for Australia’s most recognisable natural wonder? Do you long to work in a flexible and supportive workplace? We have the role for you!
At the Great Barrier Reef Foundation, we think big. We know the threats to coral reefs are too complex for one person or one solution to solve. That’s why we built a collaborative organisation to raise funds, invest in innovative ideas and design real-world, scalable conservation programs. We work in close partnership with communities, scientists, businesses and governments to do our work, in Australia and in the Pacific.
Our mission is to inspire action and wonder for coral reefs.
We collaborate with more than 600 dedicated partners on conservation projects in Australia and the Pacific. Our work is broad, but falls under our two overarching pillars: coral reef restoration, and island and coastal restoration. This is the critical decade for the world’s reefs. We cannot achieve our mission alone.
You could be the right fit for our team.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Events Coordinator plays a vital role in planning, delivering, and supporting events that showcase the Foundation’s mission, engages stakeholders, and enhances relationships with partners, donors, and the broader community. This role supports the successful execution of a range of events - such as donor briefings, stakeholder forums, fundraising functions, and public engagement activities - ensuring all elements run smoothly and align with strategic goals.
Working closely with internal teams and external partners, the Events Coordinator manages event logistics, stakeholder invitations, supplier coordination, and post-event follow-up. They ensure a high standard of presentation, participant experience, and alignment with brand and messaging. The role also supports event data capture and reporting to ensure continuous improvement and strategic insight.
This is a hands-on, detail-oriented role requiring strong organisational and communication skills, the ability to juggle multiple projects, and a collaborative, can-do attitude. We are looking for someone who takes pride in delivering excellent events and experiences for the partners and supporters who make our work possible, and who understands the key role that events play in bringing people closer to our mission and vision. If you are someone who loves the details, wants to grow and develop your skills and experience, and to be part of a team that works together to deliver amazing results, then this role could be for you.
This role reports to the Director of Corporate Partnerships but works closely with the fundraising and development team.
