Veterinary Receptionist – Part-Time Position
Are you an animal lover who thrives in a reception environment? Why not enjoy the best of both worlds and join our passionate team!
An exciting opportunity has opened up at our busy veterinary practice, and we’re on the lookout for our next reception superstar. We're seeking a friendly, professional individual with outstanding communication skills—someone who takes pride in delivering exceptional customer service. Whether you’re a registered veterinary nurse or an experienced receptionist, if you’re committed to achieving the best outcomes for our clients, patients, and colleagues, we want to hear from you!
What Are the Perks of the Role?
No weekend work, and little to no overtime during the week.
You'll be a valued member of a supportive, fun, and professional team.
Above-award wages based on experience.
Opportunities to build your skills in an engaging and interactive work environment.
Ongoing support for career growth and continued education.
You’ll help make a difference to our lovely clientele and wonderful patients.
What Does the Role Involve?
This part-time role runs Monday to Friday, from 2:30pm to 7:00pm.
You’ll work alongside our veterinary nurses in reception, handling customer service duties while assisting the clinical team where needed. No two days are the same in our fast-paced practice!
Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
Answering phones and providing clients with advice and assistance.
Managing email communication with clients and specialists.
Booking appointments and coordinating a busy daily schedule.
Checking patients in and out for consultations and hospital stays.
What Are We Looking For?
Someone who works well under pressure and with urgency.
Strong computer skills are essential; being tech-savvy is a bonus.
A basic understanding of animal health and experience in the animal industry is highly regarded.
Veterinary nurse registration is not required—we’re happy to train the right candidate.
· We also encourage applicants from the human healthcare sector (such as medical reception) to apply—your skills are highly transferable, especially if you have a passion for animal care and a willingness to learn.
Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who’s enthusiastic, adaptable, and thrives in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
Who Are We?
Wanneroo Vet Hospital is a busy, privately owned small animal hospital that’s been part of the community since 1978. We pride ourselves on high standards of care and strong client relationships—many of our clients have been with us for generations.
Our team includes 8 vets and 12 nurses, and we value collaboration, support, and great team culture. We offer a wide range of services and are committed to ongoing professional development and staff wellbeing.
Interested?
If you’d like to become part of a fun, passionate team dedicated to animal welfare, we’d love to hear from you!
