About the Role
We’re seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Logistics and Supply Chain Manager to oversee and optimize our logistics operations. This role is crucial to ensuring the seamless delivery of our premium frozen and dry goods, sourced globally and distributed across Australia and New Zealand. Reporting to the General Manager, you’ll manage international shipping, domestic logistics, and third-party logistics (3PL) warehouses, ensuring excellence at every stage.
Key Responsibilities
1. International & Domestic Logistics Management
Coordinate global shipping and imports, ensuring compliance with customs, biosecurity, and import regulations.
Manage relationships with suppliers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers to guarantee timely deliveries.
Oversee domestic logistics operations, including 3PL warehouse performance, inventory accuracy, and distribution schedules.
2. Inventory Management & Optimization
Maintain accurate inventory records, conduct regular audits, and implement controls to minimize wastage.
Review and monitor storage and inventory systems across all warehouses, including 3PL partners, to meet demand requirements.
Develop and implement strategies to prevent stock outages, minimize expired inventory, and optimize inventory turnover.
3. Demand Planning
Partner with internal key departments to forecast demand, align logistics strategies, and manage change across planning horizons.
Support new product trials and launches by coordinating logistics requirements.
Convert demand plans into actionable data while driving continuous improvement in planning processes.
4. Supplier & Cost Management
Build strong partnerships with logistics providers and vendors, negotiating contracts to meet quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities in transportation, warehousing, and inventory management.
Review and approve invoices and claims from logistics service providers, ensuring alignment with agreed-upon rate cards.
Implement and manage 3PL approved supplier criteria, including regular audits to ensure compliance with standards and performance expectations.
5. Process Improvement & Reporting
Develop and implement systems to enhance operational efficiency and ensure robust tracking of all sales, storage, and distribution transactions.
Generate reports and analyse performance metrics, such as fill rates, stockouts, and inventory turnover, to inform decision-making.
About You
We’re looking for a logistics and supply chain professional with:
Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
Strong computer literacy, including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
Minimum 1-2 years of logistics and supply chain experience, preferably in the food industry and preferably with knowledge of import-export dynamics (food safety, import conditions, and biosecurity regulations).
Written and spoken professional English proficiency.
A proactive, detail-oriented mindset with excellent problem-solving abilities and negotiation skills.
