Planet Organic – Australia’s leading name in certified organic teas, herbs, and wellness products – is seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to lead our global procurement efforts.

About the Role
As our Purchasing Manager, you’ll oversee the full procurement cycle – from sourcing and negotiating with local and overseas suppliers to managing freight logistics, import quarantine compliance, and ensuring timely, cost-effective stock availability across our operations.
You’ll focus on building strong global supplier relationships, optimising stock holdings, and ensuring a high quality of sourcing that aligns with Planet Organic’s sustainability values.
Key Responsibilities
Source and manage overseas suppliers for raw inputs and packaging.
Negotiate pricing, MOQs, terms, and lead times to meet cost and inventory targets.
Oversee shipping schedules, freight documentation, customs processes.
Monitor and manage landed costs and supply chain risks (delays, FX volatility, etc.)
Maintain accurate purchasing records and supplier data in our ERP system (Cin7 Core).
Collaborate with warehouse, production, sales, and finance to ensure stock availability.
Drive continuous improvement in purchasing processes and supplier performance.
Update and improve forecasting measures.
What You’ll Bring
5+ years’ experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management
Proven track record managing overseas suppliers and international freight and customs.
Strong understanding of landed cost calculations and global trade terms.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills.
High attention to detail with strong commercial acumen.
Proficiency with online ERP or inventory systems (Cin7 Core, Excel)
A passion for ethical, sustainable sourcing and alignment with Planet Organic’s values.
Preferred but not essential, experience managing Organic Certification purchasing requirements (ACO).
