ROLE DESCRIPTION

Parkinson Bros is a progressive farming enterprise with modern technology, well maintained equipment and innovative concepts. We practice zero till farming techniques using modern 12m controlled traffic equipment.

Parkinson Bros is farming approximately 3,600 ha of seasonal crops; wheat, barley, chickpeas, mung beans, cotton and sorghum, the balance is utilised for grazing. There are properties located near Jandowae on the Darling Downs while the main operation is located approximately 3 hours from Toowoomba city, 1 hour from the major regional centre of Roma, 30 minutes from local town Miles at Dulacca.

We are seeking a self-motivated experienced farm hand to join our team and work together with existing management. We are looking for someone who has the right attitude and enthusiasm for the cropping industry. Attitude is the only thing that we can’t teach, everything else we can bring to the table.

The role will include seasonal cropping duties such as planting, spraying, harvesting, earth works & grain cartage (MC license beneficial, can provide training if required). This will require the operation of GPS guided machinery (Greenstar), a New Holland 8.90 header with a McDon flex front, tow behind Hayes sprayer, Croplands Weedit Camera Sprayer as well as new model Fendt tractors and Western Star / Kenworth Prime Movers.

Your duties will include the maintenance of farming plant and equipment, implementing and monitoring the improvements of ground cover, soils, weed control and water efficiency as well as assisting with in-loading and out-loading of grain and maintenance at the grain storage facility. This is a diverse role where most days will be different and interesting.

There is a friendly vibrant community within the Dulacca/Drillham/Miles areas and good local facilities. This is a place to put your roots down.
