Melrose is a growing, values-driven construction business delivering outstanding results across the built environment. We're looking for a sharp, detail-focused estimator to help us secure winning projects in the commercial, industrial, education and community sectors.

This is a hands-on estimating role ideal for someone who enjoys the full tender lifecycle, from reviewing drawings and trade packages through to final submission, and wants to be part of a pre-construction team that values quality and collaboration.

About the role
You’ll be part of a close-knit estimating function that values accuracy, curiosity and strategy. Reporting to the Estimating Manager, you’ll work alongside the leadership team and project stakeholders to develop detailed and competitive submissions that align with our project capabilities and growth goals.

Key responsibilities
• Complete end-to-end estimating on projects between $1M and $20M
• Review drawings, specifications, reports and trade packages for risk and scope gaps
• Accurately measure quantities using CostX and align with industry standards
• Prepare BOQs, cost breakdowns and tender summaries
• Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors for competitive pricing
• Coordinate final submissions including methodology, inclusions and program
• Collaborate with operations to ensure handover is smooth and informed

Skills and experience
• Minimum 3 years of estimating experience with a main contractor
• Qualifications in construction, quantity surveying or a related field
• Proficient with CostX and Microsoft Excel
• Strong attention to detail and methodical in your approach
• Clear communicator who works well across teams
• Experience pricing across multiple sectors including commercial, education, industrial and community

Nice to have
• A network of reliable subcontractors and suppliers in South East Queensland
• Experience as a quantity surveyor or cost planner
• A desire to contribute to the development of estimating processes and systems
