About the role

As a Community Engagement Facilitator, you will provide personalised 1:1 support to residents, helping them connect with various community resources, including education, employment, housing, and social groups/activities. Your role will involve facilitating community connections and fostering a sense of belonging. We are looking for someone committed to the principles of psycho-social recovery and dedicated to delivering high-quality support and services to clients with complex needs. This position is essential in enhancing community engagement and improving residents' overall well-being.

Please note that this role requires 19 hours to be worked per week, over 4 days between the hours of 9:00am and 4:00pm. Exact days and hours of employment will be negotiated between ACSO and the successful applicant.

About the program

Solomon House (YRR) aims to support people with a diagnosis of a mental health condition or are experiencing symptoms of mental ill health. The purpose of Solomon House is to support youth to develop life skills to help them live independently in the community, and to also manage their mental health better.

What we're looking for

  • Minimum Diploma level qualification in a health or behaviour related field (e.g. Community Services, Mental Health, Alcohol and Drug, Disability, etc.)
  • Minimum of 1-year experience in the mental health field; or the equivalent experience and qualifications
  • Knowledge of issues pertaining to working with young persons, or persons who experience mental illness and co-morbidities.
  • Demonstrated experience engaging and working with young people, experience in a similar role with the focus being community engagement
  • Knowledge of relevant legislative requirements in supporting direct care workers and the work environment
  • Up to date knowledge around innovative and best practice methods in social inclusion, engagement, and participationA A demonstrated knowledge of the Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2024 and relevant Federal and State legislation relating to the client group
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining stakeholder relationships which deliver positive outcomes for our residents
  • Current First-Aid Certificate (Provide First Aid, Level 2 or above)
