Our client is a federal government organisation with offices throughout Australia. Due to growth, they are seeking an EL2 Solution Architect to join their team in Richmond or Geelong.
- 12-month initial contract plus 12-month extension
- Hybrid with 3 days per week onsite
- Federal government role - Australian citizenship required
The role:
The Solution Architect is accountable under broad direction to undertake very complex work that delivers quality outcomes across the functions of the client.
The position will exercise a considerable degree of independence to engage in very complex problem solving and issues management functions. The position requires exercising sound decision-making and judgement to produce high level policy advice and operational support.
The position is responsible for actively managing key internal and external stakeholder relationships and where required will represent and negotiate on behalf of the client to advance the client's interests across a range of forums. The Solution Architect is responsible for providing technical leadership in designing and implementing robust solutions aligned with client's goals and strategic objectives.

- Microsoft Fabric Deployments
- Azure-to-AWS Integration
- MuleSoft Integration
- Salesforce Integration
- Data Analytics Solutions
The successful candidate will operate with considerable independence and lead the architecture and implementation of technical solutions to support strategic business goals and enhance operational effectiveness.
Key duties and responsibilities
- Lead the design, architecture, and implementation of complex technical architecture solutions primarily using Microsoft Azure, Azure Fabric, and Azure-to-AWS integration technologies with MuleSoft and Salesforce solutions.
- Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, cloud infrastructure teams, security teams, data engineering resources, enterprise architects and security architects to clearly define requirements and technical solutions.
- Ensure solution alignment with client's architecture reference models, policies, security standards, and ICT strategic roadmaps.
- Oversee and provide technical guidance on infrastructure implementation, identity and access management (IAM), security architecture, and cloud governance.
- Drive the development of Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), automation practices, and DevOps methodologies.
- Ownership and accountability for leading and producing the delivery of clear and detailed technical solutions and technical documentation, including architecture blueprints, design documents, and implementation guidelines across the domain.
- Facilitate technical issue resolution and proactively manage solution architecture risks and dependencies.
To apply you will need the following skills and experience:
Essential criteria
- Minimum 10 years' experience as a Solution Architect, with demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing complex enterprise cloud infrastructure solutions.
- Extensive knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) methodologies and tools such as Terraform, ARM/Bicep, and Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex technical information clearly to diverse audiences.
- Experience leading and driving the architectural design for Enterprise CRM and/or large-scale integration projects, with extended experience in integrating Salesforce and/or MuleSoft AND/OR strong, demonstrable experience in Microsoft Azure including Azure Landing Zones, Virtual Networks, Azure AD/IAM, Azure Security Services, Azure Monitor, and Sentinel.
- Proven hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric and Power BI, including implementing semantic data models, DirectQuery, and data integration scenarios.
- Solid understanding and experience with Azure-to-AWS integration, including networking connectivity solutions (e.g., ExpressRoute, VPN), security, IAM policies, and data governance.
Desirable criteria
- Bachelor of Science/Business in Information Technology or equivalent tertiary qualification.
- Industry experience across health or insurance sectors, or other related industries with large customer bases and complex supply chain interactions.
- TOGAF certified or equivalent IT architectural qualification; Azure or AWS cloud experience.
- Previous experience as Enterprise Architect, Programme Lead Architect as well as experience working in both Agile and Structured delivery environments.
