The City of Karratha is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Finance team as a Trainee Rates Officer. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience while working towards a nationally recognised qualification in Financial Services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with maintaining the City’s rate book and property records
- Support the issuing of rate notices and follow-up of outstanding debts
- Respond to basic property ownership and rating enquiries
- Update Ratepayer contact details and manage the Rates inbox
- Learn to use financial systems and maintain accurate data
- Follow City policies and procedures in daily operations
Skills & Experience:
- Interest or background in finance, business, or administration (desirable)
- Willingness to learn and apply legislative requirements
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Basic computer skills and a willingness to learn new systems
- Strong attention to detail and time management
- Ability to work in a team and take direction
Eligibility & Requirements:
- Ability to undertake a Certificate III or IV in Financial Services
- National (or Federal) Police Certificate (no more than 6 months old)
