Willoughby City Council is seeking a proactive and experienced Building Management Coordinator to oversee the daily operations, safety, and compliance of Council-owned and occupied buildings. In this key role, you’ll manage building systems, ensure spaces are prepared and functioning for regular and after-hours use, respond to urgent maintenance issues, and ensure our facilities are safe, functional, and meet the needs of both staff and the community. With a strong focus on service and reliability, you’ll work across teams and suppliers to deliver high-quality building operations that support Council’s strategic goals.

About the Role
As the Building Management Coordinator, you will:
Prioritise safety and ensure compliance across all managed buildings
Oversee building systems including access control, BMS, CCTV, HVAC and lighting
Conduct regular inspections to identify and resolve maintenance and compliance issues
Manage contractor performance for services such as lifts, car park access, and electrical systems
Plan for events and after-hours access, ensuring facilities are operational and secure
Monitor and manage building operations budgets and contractor costs
Support minor renovations and upgrades, from scoping to delivery
Deliver performance reporting on the condition, usage, and operations of managed buildings
What You’ll Bring
Qualifications or demonstrated experience in Building Management and systems
Proven knowledge of building systems (BMS, access control, CCTV, HVAC)
Strong contract and contractor management skills
Excellent communication and organisational skills with strong attention to detail
Ability to identify building issues and implement effective solutions
High-level proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Experience in administration, data entry, and records management with attention to detail
A proactive, team-oriented, and customer-focused approach
Current NSW Class C Driver’s Licence
Desirable:
Experience working in local or state government or similar public-sector environments
Familiarity with Technology One
Certificate in Workplace Health and Safety
