About the Opportunity

To help us achieve this we are seeking an experienced leader to coordinate and manage our Waste team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Waste operations team in the management of landfills, Transfer Stations and waste operation assets ensuring compliance with the Protection of the Environment operations Act, Protection of Environment Operations (waste) Regulation, Solid Waste Landfill Guidelines and all other relevant legislative and regulative requirements.
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Proven supervisory and team leadership experience,
- Understanding of budgeting and financial planning.
- Experience managing contracts and working with contractors.
- Strong project management capabilities.
- Solid experience in the waste management industry.
On a typical day this role will:
- Coordinate landfill and transfer stations daily operations ensuring compliance with each individual Environment Protection Licence (EPL) and relevant legislative and regulatory requirements.
- Lead the waste operations team
- Carryout procurement requirements
- Liaise and manage Contractors to ensure safe, compliant, and timely delivery of waste services.
- Undertake detailed analysis of waste operations
- Assist the Waste Manager with preparing and implementing Waste operational budgets and Operational Plans
Remuneration and Benefits:
Employment type: Permanent, full-time role (38 hours per week with 9-day fortnight)
Salary (exclusive of super): Starting in the range of $97,310 to $108,719 depending on skills and experience
Allowance: Adverse Working Level 2, On-call and Leaseback or Vehicle allowance
