Independent Monitoring Consultants Pty Ltd (IMC) was founded in 1992, and is Australian-owned and managed. IMC head office is based in Sydney, New South Wales (NSW), operating remotely in many states and territories, including internationally in Malaysia and Thailand. IMC provides specialist consultancy services supporting building and property owners and managers, hospitals, major retail centres and more, for the protection of their cooling and water systems, legislated (Legionella) microbiological regulation, risk assessment, indoor environment, and corrosion protection and management.
The role:
We have an opportunity for a suitable candidate for a full-time Service Technician role, focused mainly on water collection samples from various client locations, such as commercial buildings and swimming pools. No water treatment experience or industry experience is required, this is an entry-level role, but we want to see candidates present their ability to perform the sampling collection role competently. Further, no qualifications/degree are required, but if any education is held in the environmental and/or science field, these are encouraged. The successful candidate will play a vital role in our national Tech-Services Division, managed from Sydney NSW. Therefore, the role is on-site during the work day, starting and finishing from home. The role requires technicians to post daily sample collections interstate to the laboratory in NSW, and occasionally to external laboratories. The candidate will work with another one or two service technicians currently.

Essential criteria:
Current and valid driver's licence
Excellent communication and organisational skills
A level of physical fitness is required for collecting samples for walking and driving throughout the work day
Ability to organise your own daily/weekly/monthly 'runs' for jobs required by the clients
Ability to work autonomously with limited face-to-face supervision due to remote distance from head office
Be able to problem-solve, escalate grievances where appropriate, and approach daily operations with a can-do attitude
Desirable criteria:
Construction White card (can be organised by IMC if required)
