About your new role
The Commercial Management Business Partner is responsible for providing strategic contract management and commercial analysis for significant contracts the City is engaged in. This includes performing contract administration, management and oversight activities in partnership with the Waste and Resource Recovery team as part of the Waste Partnerships team to deliver maximum value for money in service performance for the City. Responsibilities include:
• Lead commercial contract management and oversight in line with City policies
• Monitor benefits realisation and value capture across key agreements
• Provide clear, strategic advice to internal contract owners and stakeholders
• Manage contract governance, including contract management plans, claims, and reporting
• Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across the organisation and with external partners
• Prepare and negotiate contract variations, performance reports, and commercial analysis
• Drive performance management and implement negotiation strategies
• Develop financial models aligned to contract terms and business needs
• Engage consultants, auditors, and specialists to support contract oversight
• Coordinate and support audit responses related to contract management
We're looking for people who have:
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in significant contract management and/or commercial advisory roles
• Bachelor of Business, Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Engineering, Bachelor of Laws or Equivalent Knowledge
• Masters of Business Administration or other post-graduate qualification (desired)
