The Firm & The Role

Our client, a well-established major commercial law firm with a stellar reputation in the commercial and tax sectors, is seeking to expand its team. Led by a prominent tax partner, the team caters to a diverse clientele including ASX-listed companies, high net worth individuals, SMEs, major private companies, clients in the not for profit sectors and property developers.

Collaborating closely with the partner, you will engage in a wide array of tax work including stamp duty and land tax matters (including surcharge duty and surcharge land tax) across Australia as well as GST matters.

As this is a senior role (Senior Lawyer, Senior Associate or Special Counsel level), you will have high levels of client responsibility and you will be developing and fostering client relationships.

The work will be of high quality. Moreover, this role will enable you to take a step up in autonomy and get on the Partner fast track with plenty of specialist support.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

• At least 4 years pae experience in tax law tax Lawyers/Tax Consultants coming out of the big 4 accounting firms will be looked upon favourably
• First class tax and commercial skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• First rate advising and drafting skills
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Highly-developed organisational skills
• Ability to work independently, but within a team-focused environment
• Ability to supervise, mentor and develop junior lawyers
• Ability to play an important role in the further growth of the team
• Drive, ambition and enthusiasm for practising law that is results driven
