About the role
We are seeking a highly organised and personable Medical Secretary/Receptionist to join our dynamic team at Central West Urology in Orange, NSW. The successful applicant will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth running of our medical practice and providing exceptional secretarial and administrative support to our team of healthcare professionals.
This is a full time (38 hours per week) position, worked onsite, over Monday to Friday, in normal business hours.
What you'll be doing
Greeting and welcoming patients, both in person and on the phone, with a friendly and professional manner
Scheduling and coordinating patient appointments, ensuring efficient patient flow and minimal waiting times
Invoicing/billing and receipting of patient consultations and surgical procedures, and ensuring that accounts are paid in a timely manner
Managing operating theatre lists and liaising with hospitals as needed
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date electronic patient records and medical files
Preparing and processing a variety of medical correspondence including reports, letters, and referrals
Assisting with the management of inventory and ordering of medical supplies as needed
General office duties such as such as scanning, photocopying, collecting mail etc
Liaising with insurance providers, healthcare facilities, and other external organisations as required
What we're looking for
Previous experience as a Medical Secretary or similar administrative role in a healthcare setting
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and professional demeanour in order to liaise effectively with patients, clinicians, hospitals and other practices
Strong organisational and time management abilities, with the ability to multitask in a busy work environment.
Proficient in the use of various software applications. We currently use Gentu, therefore previous experience is the use of Gentu or Genie practice management systems would be advantageous.
A keen eye for detail and the ability to maintain accurate and meticulous records
A genuine interest in the healthcare industry and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care
