Your Future is Energy Queensland

Energy Queensland, and our operational brands: Energex, Ergon Energy Network, Ergon Retail and Yurika, are at the frontline of progress. As Australia’s largest government-owned electricity organisation, we serve people and communities across the state and beyond.?

Here, you’ll help us deliver reliable energy solutions for our two million customers.

Join us as a HSE Incident Investigation Manager and amplify your impact. This is a permanent role, and will be based at Toowoomba, Brisbane, Rockhampton, Mackay, Townsville, or Cairns.

Your Opportunity

As our HSE Incident Investigation Manager, your experience leading HSE incident investigations will be key to Energy Queensland’s continued success and growth.

Amplify your impact: You will lead a team of HSE specialists that provide HSE investigative and assurance services to the business. Here, you will lead and embed our principles and values of learning, supporting the continual evolution of EQL as a learning organisation.

Your time is spent between leading a team, completing significant HSE investigations, and ensuring that the quality of HSE investigations conducted across EQL is maintained.

This hands-on leadership role will see you:

  • Provide leadership and technical advice to Incident Owners regarding the management of all significant HSE incidents.
  • Lead both your own significant HSE incident investigations, as well as manage a geographically dispersed team of Investigation and Assurance Specialists to ensure the quality of their HSE investigations aligns with requirements.
  • Work closely with the HSE Learning and Assurance Manager to ensure HSE Investigations are completed within required timeframes while still meeting the needs of the HSE Assurance program.
  • Lead the effective management of EQL’s HSE Incident Management Framework to ensure organisational risks identified through serious incidents are management appropriately and in alignment with EQL’s HSE Strategies.

With either a 9 or 10 day fortnight in place, the bottom of the salary band starts from $184,805 for 9 days and $208,829 for 10 days + 14.75% superannuation.
