What you will bring to the Role
We are currently looking for a Workplace Health and Safety Advisor who is a compassionate and dedicated person who is driven by making a positive impact on how Council manages the health and safety of its employees and contractors. This role sits within Council’s People and Culture Department and will be part of the WHS team focused on maintaining a safe and healthy working environment within our municipality.
Key Selection Criteria
- Formal Workplace Health and Safety qualifications. Minimum Certificate IV Work Health and Safety.
- Two or more years’ experience in a workplace health and safety environment, preferably in a Construction or Contractor environment. With exposure to working on commercial & civil projects.
- Field auditing experience, preferably in a contractor environment.
- Experience as a Return-to-Work Coordinator.
- Demonstrated experience in supporting and coaching business leaders in improving health and safety performance.
- Demonstrated experience in working independently and autonomously to support cross functional departments.

Other Relevant Information
For this vacancy, preferred candidates will be required to undertake pre-employment screening, including a Declaration and Consent to a National Police Check (including potential international criminal history check), Qualification Check. Candidates must hold a current and valid Victorian Drivers Licence (Minimum Class C), a current WWCC, a Construction Industry Induction (White Card), and have the Right to Live and Work in Australia.
