A global fintech powerhouse is on the lookout for a proven infrastructure leader to head up a high-performing team in Sydney. This is a hands-on leadership role - perfect for someone who thrives on solving complex infrastructure problems and is passionate about building secure, scalable, and automated systems that keep a world-class trading operation running smoothly.

To be successful in the role, a high degree of Windows systems engineering knowledge is needed.

They have some of the best offices in Sydney with Lunch & Breakfast provided daily by their own in-house catering team. They do require someone in office 4 days per week but will require fulltime in office during onboarding period.

The role

• Take ownership of critical infrastructure across the APAC region
• Lead and mentor a small, tight-knit team of talented engineers
• Set the direction for infrastructure best practices and automation
• Work closely with global teams
• Balance deep technical work with leadership, strategy and stakeholder engagement
• Drive improvements across systems like VMware, Windows Server, NetApp, and more
• Enable fast, reliable, and secure trading environments at scale

What you'll bring

• Experience leading or mentoring technical teams
• Strong background in infrastructure - particularly Windows Server management & Virtualisation
• Hands-on with C#, PowerShell or Python, Terraform (or keen to learn)
• Experience with enterprise systems like Active Directory, NetApp, Windows Server
• Understanding of modern observability tools (SCOM, Grafana, Prometheus, InfluxDB, etc.)
• Clear communicator and team player - someone who can lead with influence
