We’re partnering with a well-respected MSP based in the Newcastle/Hunter region to find a senior technical leader who thrives on both delivery and direction. This isn’t your typical siloed SDM or Senior Engineer role - it’s a rare blend of hands-on expertise, client leadership, and commercial strategy. What You’ll Be Doing

Technical Delivery (Senior Engineer Scope):

• Lead complex escalations, project implementations, and hands-on support
• Work across Microsoft 365, Intune, Azure AD, Defender, and conditional access
• Manage firewalls, backups, patching, and RMM (ConnectWise/others)
• Own technical documentation and systems integrity

Service Delivery Leadership:

• Allocate and oversee tickets, projects and engineers
• Maintain SLAs, CSAT scores, and roadmap alignment with clients
• Mentor team members and support onboarding/performance reviews
• Manage SOPs and internal standards (Confluence, PSA)

Strategy & Commercial:

• Assist in quoting, project scoping, and budget reconciliation
• Lead toolset improvements, automation, and service enhancement
• Contribute to client tech roadmaps and risk management

What We’re Looking For

• 7+ years in MSP technical roles (L3, Systems Engineer, Project Engineer, etc.)
• Deep experience with Microsoft 365 stack, firewalls, networks, and RMM tools
• Natural leadership qualities and ability to guide and support engineers
• Strong commercial awareness (budgeting, quoting, vendor management)
• Confident communicator with clients from SMBs to business owners

Bonus points for:

• Microsoft/Sophos/Cisco certs
• Scripting/automation (PowerShell, Python)
• Familiarity with quoting tools (e.g. Zomentum) or frameworks like NIST/Essential Eight
