We are looking for a professional Sous Chef to join our beachside kitchen. This is an opportunity to step up in a dynamic and challenging environment, right on the beach!
Coast is a laid-back, beachside pub and event space serving Lunch, Dinner, private seated functions and weddings, and large 1000+ cocktails and concert events.
We don't take ourselves too seriously-- but we do take our work seriously.
Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations, ensuring that company standards and customer expectations are met.
We’re looking for a Sous Chef with ambition, drive, and the confidence to lead. This is your opportunity to work in a large, fast-paced kitchen alongside an experienced Head Chef, while developing the skills to run a kitchen of your own.
You’ll be hands-on with every aspect of kitchen operations—menu execution, team leadership, and service delivery. Lead and mentor a large team of chefs and kitchen staff.
Support with ordering, stock control, rostering and compliance
Requirements
Good communication and a positive attitude
Excellent use of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and processes
Confidently step up and manage one of the kitchens in the absence of the head chef
Be able to move fast, think quickly and execute with precision
Cert III minimum commercial cookery, and a full working visa/residency is essential
