Kellybourke is a specialist marine infrastructure remediation and engineering company that focuses on the renewal and repair of existing assets such as bridges, jetties, wharves, navigational locks and ferry terminals. We are looking for a Site Engineer to join our growing marine business.
The successful candidate will be required to report to the Project Engineer and Project Manager, and offer support primarily on our Brisbane City Ferry Terminals maintenance contract but also other jobs that are awarded throughout Southeast Queensland. This roll will largely be based out of our Murarrie office with regular site attendance to various ferry terminals on the Brisbane River. At times if other projects are awarded, the roll may require a more site-based presence in a site office.
As a Site Engineer, you will typically direct and oversee the project or particular aspects of the project onsite.
Responsibilities
- Develop a good understanding and demonstrative experience of marine civil engineering techniques relating to marine and civil infrastructure works, including setting out and supervision of construction
- Helping to manage the project in a fast-paced and demanding environment
- Assisting with developing construction programmes and monitoring progress
- Build relationships with sub-contractors
- Working with Supervisors to plan and coordinate onsite construction activities
- Ensuring OH&S and Environmental procedures are implemented at all times
- You will be responsible for inspection of works and managing specialist sub-contractors
- Completing Quality Assurance – ITP’s, method statements, etc.
- Working with supervisors to ensure safety and environmental compliance and the creation of a safe working environment
- Maintain daily site records
Requirements and Demonstrated Skills
- Understanding & experience in marine construction and remediation
- A practical-minded hands-on approach coupled with excellent communication and people skills
- A civil/mechanical engineering degree or equivalent qualification
- Highly motivated attitude to learn and grow within the industry
- Management skills for handling staff and sub-contractors
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
- Have a good understanding and demonstrative experience of marine civil engineering construction and remediation techniques
