Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain reliable AWS cloud infrastructure in collaboration with research and IT teams.
  • Automate infrastructure using Terraform and manage CI/CD pipelines for seamless delivery.

  • Partner with cybersecurity and DevOps teams to protect sensitive research data.
  • Contribute to MCRI's broader enterprise cloud strategy and support cloud adoption initiatives.
  • Enable researchers with self-service tools and environments that foster experimentation and innovation.
  • Stay ahead of emerging technologies and bring forward ideas to enhance MCRI's cloud capabilities.

What You'll Bring

Essential:

  • 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering, especially AWS (VPC, EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, etc.).
  • Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), automation, and DevOps practices.
  • Strong grasp of cloud security, identity management, and regulated data handling.
  • Proficiency with tools like GitLab, Docker, Artifactory, and monitoring solutions.
  • Programming experience (preferably Python) and strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration across technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Desirable:

  • AWS certifications and/or knowledge of Azure or hybrid cloud environments.
  • Experience in research, higher education, or health data environments.
  • Familiarity with frameworks like ITIL or Well-Architected Frameworks.
