ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking an Operational Risk and Resilience Manager to join the Custom Fleet team and play a key role in supporting the identification, assessment, and management of operational risks across the organisation.
Essential duties:
· Conduct Line 2 (second-line) reviews of key operational risks across the Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) region, ensuring alignment with enterprise risk frameworks.
· Identify and assess potential risks, control deficiencies, and areas of non-compliance, conducting root cause analysis and recommending corrective actions.
· Support incident management by working with incident owners to analyse risk events, investigate root causes, and implement remediation plans.
· Facilitate ongoing management and the annual review of business resilience plans and operational risk registers.
· Provide insights on emerging risks, regulatory changes, and industry best practices to enhance the organisation’s risk posture.
· Oversee risk and resilience assessment processes for new processes, systems, and business activities to ensure that risk registers and resilience documentation remain current.
· Maintain and update Business Continuity documentation (BCPs & BIA) ensuring they align with business activities, priorities and industry best practice.
· Support the development and execution of resilience testing, crisis simulations, and scenario analysis planning.
· Manage and maintain risk management systems, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and accessibility for reporting and decision-making.
· Conduct regular reviews and updates of operational risk assessments, ensuring controls are effective and appropriately documented.
· Develop, maintain, and deliver risk and resilience training materials to educate employees on risk policies, operational resilience, and incident management.
· Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and key advisor for business units on risk management and resilience best practices.
Other:
· Understanding and proficiency in application of Australian financial regulations (e.g., APRA CPS 230, ASIC requirements) and internal risk governance policies.
· Foster a strong risk-aware culture by working closely with business leaders to embed risk management and resilience practices in daily operations.
ABOUT YOU
It is essential the successful candidate has the following:
· Interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills, with the capacity to collaborate and negotiate with all levels of stakeholders.
· Written and analytical skills, with the capacity to prepare accurate, concise, and logically presented briefings for key stakeholders.
· Organisational, coordination and project management skills, including the capacity to work towards specified deadlines and manage competing priorities
· Builds and maintains excellent productive working relationships based on mutual trust at all levels in the organisation.
· Demonstrated understanding of governance, risk management and quality improvement concepts, with a focus on systems and process improvement
Other knowledge will include:
· Knowledge and understanding of systems within a complex environment.
· Proactive, sees rounds corners and anticipates issues in advance.
Education & Experience
Essential:
· 1–3 years of experience in a compliance, procurement, supply chain, or risk management role.
Other:
· Experience conducting risk assessments or audits of suppliers or third parties is highly desirable.
