You'll play a key role in building capability across the business, managing a small HR team, and delivering high-impact initiatives that support both culture and commercial outcomes. Duties
Within this generalist HR Manager role you will get involved with:
- Coaching and mentoring HR team members to enhance performance and collaboration
- Leading recruitment across business and partnering with leaders to define role requirements and attract top talent
- Managing end-to-end hiring processes to ensure a smooth and professional candidate experience
- Supporting workforce planning activities that align with current needs and future growth
- Coordinating onboarding and training initiatives to build capability across teams
- Advising on employee relations matters with a balanced, people-centric approach
- Strengthening leadership capability through targeted development and support
- Facilitating performance conversations, goal-setting processes, and development planning
- Designing and delivering recognition and reward initiatives tailored to team needs
- Streamlining HR operations, including contracts, systems management, and policy updates
- Overseeing payroll coordination and ensuring accurate, compliant HR administration
- Monitoring legislative changes and applying employment frameworks in a practical, fit-for-purpose way
- Partnering with senior leadership to guide people strategy during growth and transformation
- Shaping employee engagement initiatives that align with cultural values and business direction
- Promoting wellbeing, inclusion, and a positive employee experience through meaningful initiatives
Skills & Experience
To be successful in the role, you will have:
- 5+ years in a senior HR or people operations role, ideally within creative, consulting, or fast-paced project environments
- Demonstrated ability to support dynamic teams with varying needs, personalities, and workstyles
- Strong working knowledge of Australian employment legislation, industrial relations, and modern awards
- Proven experience managing end-to-end recruitment and building talent pipelines for specialist roles
- Confidence in handling performance conversations, employee relations matters, and workplace investigations
- Skilled in designing and implementing HR processes that are both compliant and user-friendly
- The ability to be a trusted advisor with a track record of building strong relationships across all levels of an organisation
- Confidence in leading change, influencing decision-makers, and aligning people initiatives with business goals
- A tech-savvy attitude with experience using HRIS platforms and systems to streamline operations and reporting
- An Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency, as this is a permanent position
