With a strong pipeline of upcoming work, we are expanding our leadership team and seeking a Human Resources Manager based out of our Craigieburn, Melbourne office to drive our people strategy and ensure best-in-class HR practices.
Your new role
As the Human Resources Manager, you will be a strategic partner to our senior leadership team, playing a pivotal role in shaping and implementing HR strategies aligned with our divisional business objectives. You will work across a diverse range of projects including telecommunications, renewable energy, large scale civil and plant & equipment hire.
This is a high-impact, senior HR leadership role that demands exceptional strategic thinking, operational excellence, and emotional intelligence.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the National Operations Manager, you will lead HR across a diverse workforce of 100+ employees spanning rigging, civil works and telecommunications. You’ll drive culture, capability, and business growth by:
Managing full-spectrum HR functions — recruitment, onboarding, performance, compliance, and training.
Leading workforce planning, talent development, and succession strategies.
Championing diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
Overseeing complex employee and industrial relations, including agreement negotiations.
Driving organisational change and ensuring legislative compliance.
Building strong relationships across all business levels.
Developing and maintaining recruitment and retention strategies to attract top talent and foster a high-performing workforce.
Developing HR Systems & strategies, policies, and procedures to support business objectives and improve efficiencies whilst enhancing employee engagement.
Providing expert guidance on employee and industrial relations, including managing complex industrial agreement negotiations.
Partnering with senior leaders to drive workforce planning, talent development, and organisational effectiveness.
Promoting a high-performance workplace culture, fostering diversity, equality, and inclusion.
Ensure legislative compliance and stay ahead of industry best practices.
Lead organisational change initiatives with clear communication and structured implementation.
Demonstrate strategic HR leadership by contributing to the development and execution of HR strategies and policies that support the organisation’s goals.
Lead end-to-end talent acquisition and management, including recruitment, onboarding, performance reviews, and succession planning.
Foster positive employee relations by effectively managing grievances, disciplinary matters, and promoting a respectful and inclusive workplace culture.
Ensure HR compliance with all relevant workplace laws, awards, and regulations.
Coordinate and support training and development programs to enhance employee capability and growth.
Champion change management initiatives, supporting teams and leadership through periods of organisational transformation.
Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage, influence, negotiate, and resolve conflict constructively at all levels.
About You
5+ years in HR, including 2+ years in senior leadership roles
Bachelor's degree (Psychology, Business, HR)
Master’s degree in Leadership, Business, or related field (MBA and Project Management desirable)
Experience in construction, telecommunications, engineering, renewable energy, or related sectors
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Commercially savvy, confident and values-driven leadership style
Proven ability in coaching, mentoring, and influencing diverse teams
Expertise in workforce planning, IR/ER, compliance, and HR strategy
High energy, resilience, and ability to work under pressure
Advanced skills in HR systems and performance management
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and stakeholder management skills
Ability to influence and coach senior leaders, driving positive workplace culture and performance
Adaptable and proactive, comfortable balancing strategic leadership with hands-on HR responsibilities
Strong to advanced user ability in Excel is required
