About the role
This casual support worker role involves providing in-home assistance to clients with a traumatic brain injury (TBI) in 2 locations (Minto and Narellan, NSW) and helping them manage daily routines and tasks. You will support emotional regulation, able to handle heightened situations, implement care strategies designed by professionals, and encourage independence through modelling and prompting behaviours. The role also includes light domestic duties, meal preparation, and occasional driving to appointments or community activities. Regular communication with the care team is essential to report on progress and ensure consistent support.
- Experienced in providing in-home support, including assistance with daily routines, personal tasks, and transportation
- Skilled in modelling and prompting behaviours to encourage client independence and routine implementation
- Confident in assisting with emotional regulation and supporting clients with traumatic brain injuries (TBI)
- Available for shifts from 9.30am to 3.30pm (Mon - Sat) in Minto, NSW and flexible 3 - 6 hrs shift per day (Mon - Fri) in Narellan, NSW.
- Provide regular, detailed feedback to the care team on the client’s progress, behaviours, and any changes in needs or routines
About you
- You're caring, reliable, and confident in supporting both adults and young children.
- Experience working with ABI/TBI clients, supporting families, children, or people with disability or neurodivergence – highly regarded.
- Available to work a minimum of 3 days a week during the specified shift hours, with a commitment to at least 15 hours per week.
- Must hold a current driver’s license, reliable vehicle, valid NDIS Clearance and Working with Children Check.
- A minimum of Cert III/IV in Individual Support, Disability, Community Services or an equivalent qualification is preferred.
