About the role

We’re on the hunt for a Senior Software Engineer to lead the design and development of core system components (including APIs, connectors, and data store interfaces) for a high-impact Defence project in Canberra.

You’ll be the go-to for shaping secure, scalable solutions that meet both functional and non-functional requirements for a complex data design & integration project.

This is for a longterm contract

Canberra based

NV2 or TSPV is ESSENTIAL

Paying up to $150ph inclusive of super

About you

Strong experience with Linux (Java and Unix-based programming languages)

Strong Data Design experience (ingestion, processing, searching & observability)

Background in software and system design, especially tailoring to functional/non-functional requirements

Experience working in Agile delivery environments

Proven experience with Apache NiFi is highly regarded

Familiarity with enterprise search integration (Elastic), desirable

Degree in Software Engineering, Systems Engineering or related field

Prior experience working in Defence / isolated / secure type environments

NV2 OR TSPV Security Clearance is ESSENTIAL

Responsibilities

Designing software components (APIs, connectors, interfaces to the data store) with a strong focus on security and scalability

Developing detailed models, system characteristics and technical documentation

Tailoring technologies and existing solutions to meet specific solution outcomes

Collaborating in an Agile, high-performance team within a Defence environment

Integrating enterprise search functionality across systems

Leading or contributing to the design, deployment, configuration, and maintenance of Apache NiFi systems (strongly preferred)
