This position qualifies for an annual Recruitment Incentive Package up to the value of $10,000 (conditions apply and may be pro-rata’d to your contracted or ordinary working hours, these payments are paid on a fortnightly basis) under the NSW Health Rural Health Workforce Incentive Scheme.
This scheme recognises the role key health workers play in enabling the delivery of rural and remote health services, and aims to provide incentives over and above award entitlements, to attract and retain staff in these areas.

What you'll be doing
- Based in Broken Hill, you’ll work across multiple facilities within the district, with travel to locations such as Balranald, Buronga, Ivanhoe, Menindee, Tibooburra, Wentworth, White Cliffs, and Wilcannia to support Nursing Learning and Development
- Partner with the Nursing and Midwifery Education team in Broken Hill to deliver on key strategic education initiatives
- Develop your skills & rapidly progress your career with more responsibility and autonomy
- Provide our patients with safe, compassionate, person centred care
- Travel between sites covered + free accommodation when away from base site
- Develop and implement clinical education programs to support ongoing professional clinical development of nursing and midwifery staff

How to apply
To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria in the application as thoroughly as possible:
- Current Authority to practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Current Certificate as a Workplace Trainer and Assessor (currently Certificate IV) or willingness to work towards and attain certification within 12 months of commencement of position.
- Currently FLECC credentialed or willingness to work towards and attain certification within 24 months of commencement of position.
- Demonstrated three years' experience providing clinical teaching and education to clinicians using adult learning principles and facilitation skills.
- Credentialed in Triage and as an Advanced Life Support Instructor, or willingness to obtain within 12 months of commencement of position.
- Evidence of participation in own professional development and commitment to maintaining competence and enhancement of skills as a Registered Nurse.
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, advanced computer skills and use of software programs to develop and deliver education.
- Eligibility to drive in NSW and preparedness to drive and travel long distance across rural and remote areas and preparedness to be away from home for extended periods of time, including travelling between district sites and staying in remote areas for work.

About Far West NSW Local Health District
Bordering three states, Far West Local Health District (LHD) covers 194,949 square kilometres in remote NSW. The LHD is sparsely populated, with 62% of its approximately 30,000 inhabitants living in the Silver City of Broken Hill. The remainder of the population live in agricultural towns along the Murray River, in small remote communities of 80-800 people or on stations throughout the LHD. Far West LHD is the most sparsely populated LHD in NSW and has the highest proportion of Aboriginal residents (9.6%). The population is decreasing, ageing and experiencing significant morbidity related to lifestyle factors and chronic illness.
