Your new company

This organisation plays a vital role in supporting access to tertiary education by acting as a central hub for course applications and admissions. It works closely with universities, TAFEs, and independent colleges to process applications, issue offers, and manage key systems such as the calculation of tertiary entrance rankings. Additionally, it provides strategic support, policy development, and governance services to ensure transparent, inclusive, and efficient pathways into higher education.

Your new role

This pivotal position sits within the CEO's Office and reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer. It is a standalone role covering long service leave, offering a unique opportunity to contribute at a strategic level and influence organisational direction.

You will act as a trusted advisor to the CEO, manage strategic projects from inception to delivery, and serve as Secretary to the Board and affiliated committees. This role is ideal for someone who excels in governance, executive communications, and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Governance & Board Support: Serve as Secretary to the Board and committees, prepare agendas, minutes, and strategic documentation.
• Strategic Projects: Lead and manage high-impact projects aligned with organisational goals.
• Executive Communications: Draft high-quality communications and presentations for the CEO and senior stakeholders.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with tertiary institutions, government bodies, and external partners.
• Policy & Advice: Provide expert advice on admissions, policy development, and strategic planning.
• Continuous Improvement: Drive innovation and process enhancements across the organisation.

What you'll need to succeed

You will bring senior-level experience in governance, strategic project management, and stakeholder engagement, ideally within the higher education sector. Your background will include:

• Proven experience in a governance or board secretary role.
• Strong understanding of executive-level communications and policy development.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and relationships.
• Postgraduate qualifications or equivalent experience.
• Admission management experience (desirable)
