We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager on a 2-year fixed-term contract to play a key role in managing multiple exciting transformation projects at Banyule City Council.

What you'll do:
The IT Project Manager will drive high-impact technology projects that enhance customer experience. You'll lead end-to-end project delivery, develop business cases, manage change, and engage stakeholders.
You will:
- Lead end-to-end delivery of IT projects including planning, budgeting, procurement, implementation and handover
- Develop business cases that align project scope, goals and deliverables are aligned with Council's strategic objectives
- Ensure project compliance with organisational policies and evaluate performance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Proactively identify, manage and mitigate project risks and issues to ensure projects are delivered on-time and on-budget
- Design and implement change management strategies to support employees across the organisation adopt changes and new process are integrated effectively.
- Conduct stakeholder analysis and drive stakeholder engagement through communications and change management plans.
- Drive process improvements aligned with the Digital Transformation Plan to increase internal and external customer experience.
Who and what we are looking for (skills and experience). You'll have:
- Postgraduate qualification or equivalent industry experience in project management
- Demonstrated experience in successful delivery of business application projects
- Substantial experience in developing practical change and communications strategies for IT and service delivery projects.
- Extensive experience in facilitation and development of business requirements documents and functional specifications.
- Excellent written skills to develop all required project documentation
- Strong understanding of IT systems solutions, projects and system development lifecycle.
- Ability to recommend the appropriate level of organisational change activities for IT projects based on risk assessment and provide the estimated effort and costs to be included in the projects.
- Strong attention to detail, and demonstrated experience working with multiple concurrent projects with competing priorities
- Experience working with local government authorities is desirable.

What we offer:
- A fixed-term full-time position with a monthly RDO
- Salary $122,476.30 - $136,887.38 per annum plus super.

About Banyule City Council
Banyule is less than 30 minutes travelling time from the CBD and it has an excellent public transport network with the Melbourne-Hurstbridge Railway Line running through it. There are nine railway stations within Banyule offering interesting and varied destinations from Ivanhoe, Eaglemont and Heidelberg in the south, which are nestled in a beautiful section of the Yarra Valley and steeped in history, to the rolling wooded hills of Montmorency in the north.
